CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- It's still winter, but local experts say this is the time for homeowners to start thinking about spring.
Between maintenance and lawn care, there's plenty to be done in the coming months.
From your gutters to your driveway, make sure your drainage ways are clear for spring rains.
Barbara Woodside works at Ace Hardware in Carbondale. She says if you want a healthy and green lawn, early spring is the time to weed and feed.
"Just getting your grass, your weed and feed on your grass, getting your seeds started to be able to go in the ground, so there's lots of prep that you can do for as far as fertilizing and all of that."
If you don't have a lawn or garden, but you want to try out your green thumb, Woodside recommends hydroponics as a way to grow vegetables year round.
