Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels on the Big Muddy River will continue to drop, falling below
flood stage at Plumfield Sunday, and at Murphysboro Monday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

One dead after vehicle crashes into tree

CALDWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) -- One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Caldwell County on Christmas Eve.

Caldwell County Sheriff Don Weedman stated their deputies responded to a crash on KY Highway 672 on December 24 where a 2010 Nissan Altima ran off the road, hit multiple fence posts and then crashed in to a tree.

The Altima was driven by Joseph Davis, 31 of Crofton, Kentucky, and was later pronounced dead at the scene, authorities reported.

Assisting the Caldwell County deputies at the scene were the Princeton/Caldwell Fire Department, AMeriPro EMS, Caldwell County Corner and Trice Hughes Towing.

The sheriff's office said the investigation is ongoing.
