CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- New furry friends are up for adoption in this edition of Pets of the Week.
Mikey is a Lab/Pit Bull mix who was born in August of 2011. He was adopted from PAWS Place Adoption Center after he was abandoned. He has since returned because he prefers to be the only dog in a home. Mikey does do well with people. He just prefers not to share them. He loves belly rubs, cuddles, wants to be a lap dog, and he will smile for you. He has been neutered, micro-chipped, dewormed and is currently on heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $150.00, and he can be seen by appointment only at the shelter in Anna.
Captain Hissypants doesn't want you to be fooled by his name. The handsome cat is 14 pounds of love. He got his name because when he got to St. Francis CARE he was unsure about everything. With a little time and T.L.C., his personality blossomed. He would be great by himself or in a multi-cat home with cats his age or younger. He would also be a good cat for children over the age of 8. Captain Hissypants has an allergy to red dye and most treats upset his stomach. His adoption fee at the Murphysboro shelter is $50.00 and that includes his neuter, vaccine, and microchip.
Sheba is a two-year-old Wire Terrier mix. She loves kids and other dogs and is house broke. Contact Jefferson County Animal Control in Mt. Vernon to learn more about Sheba.
Finding Forever Animal Rescue has a grey wide-eyed cat up for adoption. Contact the shelter in Marion for more information about all the animals up for adoption.
