below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro

Scott City man arrested, accused of having inappropriate underage images

SCOTT CITY, MO. -- Police arrested a man after authorities say he admitted to having sexual images of a child on his computer. 

The Scott City Police Department arrived at Phillip Lawrence's home in Scott City as a result of an ongoing investigation into child pornography. Police say they believed he possessed inappropriate images of the child that he was keeping stored on his personal computer. 

Police arrived at his home Tuesday and officers arrested Lawrence and issued him a charge of Possession of Child Pornography.

He is held at the Scott County Sheriff's Department with no chance of bond.
