WHITE CO. (WSIL) -- The White County Sheriff's office is taking several preventative measures to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus.
A post made on the Facebook page, outlined some of those preventative measures - stating they are effective immediately. Some of those new preventative measures include:
- No in-person visits at the jail, only contact through remote means.
- For non-emergency calls an officer will contact the citizen and determine if the call can be handled over the phone.
- Officers will not be sent to a scene as a response to a call for service.
- All inmates brought into the jail will be asked a series of questions to determine risk of exposure to the Coronavirus.
- Only defendants or plaintiffs will be allowed into the courtroom. No family members or friends may accompany defendants in the courtroom. This does not apply to attorneys and court personnel.
If you have any questions about the new measures, you can contact the Sheriff's Office at the following phone number: (618) 382-5321
