.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River for the next
week, dropping near to below flood stage by April 21.

For the Big Muddy River...including Plumfield, Murphysboro...
Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

- At 11:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 25.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late Sunday evening and continue falling to 19.6 feet Monday,
April 21.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Squad car struck, 23rd Scott's Law related crashes involving ISP

ISP squad car struck

(WSIL) -- Another Illinois State Police Trooper's squad car was hit by a vehicle Tuesday. 

Around 10:20 p.m. in Cook County, a Trooper was parked in the left lane with emergency lights on for a crash. A truck failed to yield and struck the right side of the squad car. 

The 19-year-old driver was cited for a Scott's Law violation and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. 

There have been 23 ISP Move Over Law-related crashes this year and eight Troopers have sustained injuries
