CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- A suspect is in custody in reference to a previous standoff with Carbondale Police.
Josten Denwood (28) had a warrant for his arrest - with charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of weapons by a felon.
At around 4 p.m. on Friday, officers took Denwood into custody in the 400 block of East Chestnut Street.
The 28-year-old is believed to be linked with a five-hour standoff on Monday, March 23rd - where officials say William Stewart (27) fired shots at someone in the 400 block of East Ashley Street.
Police later found Stewart barricaded inside a home on East Chestnut Street and, after hours of negotiations, a SWAT team went into the home and took the man into custody.
Denwood is being held at the Jackson County Jail as the investigation continues.
