Badd Axe Ladies accepting applications for new round of meetings

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Badd Axe Ladies are back for another year of inspiring girls to fight fires. 

The group is now accepting applications for the next round of the ladies' meetings in March. A video posted to gives interested applicants an idea of what to expect from the group. 

Interested parties should fill out to apply. Applications are due by February 15. 

Participants in the group's events will have the opportunity to ride along with the hosts on a Fire Truck and learn a number of skills required to fight fires in real life. 

The program is open to girls attending one of the following schools: 

  • Carbondale Community High School District 165
  • Murphysboro High School
  • SIU Carbondale
  • John A. Logan College
