Calloway County man arrested after car chase

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. -- Calloway County officials arrested a man after a pursuit of his car.聽

Deputies from the Calloway County Sheriff's Office noticed a car speeding on Hwy 641 North around Stewart Cemetery Road just before midnight Saturday night. The officials tried to stop Ke'Shawn M. Scott, 22, of Paducah but said he sped off to avoid the stop.聽

Officials followed Scott into Marshall County. Scott reportedly continued to increase his speed the entire time. Marshall County Sheriff's Office and other agencies sent officers to help with the chase.聽

Calloway County said Scott continued onto the I-69 southbound interchange where he crashed into the guard rail twice. This seemed to throw off Scott's driving, and he eventually stopped on the side of I-69.聽

Officers approached Scott and found a passenger in the car as well. They arrested Scott and sent him to Calloway County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Speeding over 26 mph faster than the speed limit
  • Reckless driving
  • Operating on a suspended license聽
  • Fleeing or evading police, 1st Degree -- Motor Vehicle (Class D Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief, 1st Degree - Class D Felony
  • Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree -- Class D Felony
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
