Cambria Fire Department will host a breakfast fundraiser at the station

Cambria Fire Department will be hosting their Fundraiser on March 7th starting at 8 a.m. Officials say it's a great way to meet those serving the community.

CAMBRIA, Ill. (WSIL)-- Some local firefighters want to make you breakfast. The Cambria Fire Department is hosting a home-cooked meal.

It is a fundraiser for the station to maintain equipment and facilities.

The station's chief, Randall Simmons, says it's also a great way to meet your local first responders.

“Fundraisers are super important for volunteer communities, not just for us, but for everybody. It helps us get extra equipment, extra gear, and possible recruitment,� Simmons said.

Jared Warren with the station says they have a full menu for guests.

“We'll be serving bacon and eggs, biscuits and gravy,� Warren said.

Warren says he looks forward to meeting those from the community.

“I just think it's important that they know who we are and who's serving their community, who's taking care of it,� Warren says. “We're volunteering our time, we're not paid, you know, we're just doing this because we have a passion for it.�

Simmons says the event is Saturday, March 8th, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the fire station. He says a plate for adults is $10 and $5 for kids.
