Carbondale police looking for suspect in hit-and-run vehicle vs pedestrian crash

1 person seriously injured in Carbondale hit-and-run crash

CARBONDALE, IL (WSIL) -- Carbondale Police announced they are looking for a 37-year-old who has an arrest warrant out in connection to a hit-and-run crash investigation on September 26 where one person was seriously injured and sent to the hospital.

Authorities are looking for Dewone D. Miller, 37 of Marion. Police obtained an arrest warrant which charges Miller with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving personal injury and aggravated battery.

It happened on September 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the 400 block of East Walnut Street.

Officers arrived to the scene and found someone seriously injured. That person was taken to the hospital.

Witnesses say the suspect was driving a silver or gray SUV. They were last seen turning south on South Graham Street from East Walnut Street.

Detectives looked at intersection cameras and discovered the vehicle is a 2010 Nissan Rogue, Illinois license plate K60 0864.

The victim is still in a local hospital but is stable.
