Duck Race 2024

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ill. -- Heather Treat Memorial hosted its annual Duck Race on Sunday to raise money for Cancer patients.

Now in its 30th year, the event has given over $380,000 to patients in need. By selling rubber ducks to compete in the race, the Heather Treat Memorial raises funds that are divvied up among those who buy a duck.

The event kicked off at 2:00 p.m. with the release of all ducks on one end of a pond. The first duck to make it to the finish line raised $1,000 for Maddy Rowe.

Second place went to the final duck to cross the line. J. Street received $500.

The individuals who sold the winning ducks each received $250.

Final numbers on money raised and winning contestants will be released soon.

A of the event is available on the Heather Treat Memorial Facebook Page.
