CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- A few degrees warmer this morning as temperatures overall have been slightly above average to begin the official start of fall.

Sunday: Morning lows into the lower 60's, rising into the lower and mid 80's. Some peaks of sun this morning, eventually becoming mostly cloudy as a slow moving system breaks apart at our doorstep. A few isolated to scattered showers and storms will be likely this afternoon. Winds ESE turning SE 5-10mph. More isolated-scattered shower chances will exist into the late evening hours.

Monday: Morning lows into the lower to mid 60's will rise into the lower to mid 80's. Mostly cloudy with a few breaks in the clouds as isolated to scattered showers move across the region from the overnight and early morning hours. Eventually, clouds will clear going into the late afternoon and most of the region will see a partly cloudy sky. Winds SW 5-10mph.

Tuesday: Morning lows into the lower to mid 60's, rising into the upper 70's to lower 80's. A few isolated showers could present themselves into the early morning hours to our northern-most counties of southern Illinois. Partly cloudy with winds light from the SW 5-10mph.

Looking ahead, there doesn't seem to be too many changes to look forward to in the week ahead. Temperatures will continue to be just slightly above average with some indication they go above the mid 80's. As for rain chances, a few more isolated to scattered showers and a storm or two look probable into the midweek.
