House Fire erupts in Christopher

CHRISTOPHER, Ill. -- A home fire broke out early Thursday morning in Christopher.

Our team visited the site to see the damage left behind. 

According to crews, no one was home at the time of the fire. The house is reportedly abandoned. 

Crews did shut down portions of Route 148 South to deal with the fire. As previously reported, this road has now reopened. It is estimated the closure lasted about an hour.
