Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

- At 8:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 28.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 8:30 PM CDT Thursday was 28.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.0
feet just after midnight tonight.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Jefferson County honors fallen soldier

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office hosted the Annual LCpl J. Kyle Price Memorial Ride on Saturday. 

The event is a yearly memorial to local Marine Kyle Price who died in Iraq in 2006.

"The Sheriff and his staff thank all gold star families for their sacrifice that can never be fully repaid but should be honored as much as possible," wrote the Jefferson County Sheriffs.  

Participants enjoyed a lunch with entertainment before partaking in the ride on motorcycles through the region. Afterward, the group rejoined for dinner and games. 

According to the memorial's , the funds go toward "various community and military related causes and organizations."
