Malfunctioning car stopped in Graves County, drugs discovered

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. -- A Graves County Deputy arrested a man on drug charges after stopping his vehicle for what appeared to fellow drivers as malfunctioning parts. 

The officer stopped Jackie Brown, 46, of Henderson, KY, after receiving word of the condition of Brown's vehicle. The stop occurred around the 28-mile marker on I-69 at about 8:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Upon stopping, Brown revealed he did not possess a valid driver's license. The officer proceeded with the investigation with questions that led to a search of Brown's car. 

According to officials, the search produced a small bag with two ounces of methamphetamine and marijuana inside. A pipe for smoking meth lay near the bag.

Officers took Brown to the Graves County RC Center and charged him with the following:

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Meth), Greater than 2 Grams -- 2nd of Greater Offense
  • Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possession
  • Improper Equipment
  • Carless Driving
  • No Operator's License
