STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. -- A man believed to be tied to the death of an elderly woman has received new charges.

Officials charged Jerry Teeters, 59, with the Class A Felony of Murder in the 2nd degree and a Class A Felony for Domestic Assault on Friday. Teeters previously faced a charge for a Class A misdemeanor of Elder Abuse.

The new charges come as a part of the ongoing investigation into Teeters. The situation began back in November when officials arrived at the source of a 911 call to find Nadine Teeters, 83, dead.

Judge Joe Satterfield issued a warrant officially listing the charges on Friday.

Teeters remains at the Stoddard County Jail with no chance of bond awaiting a trial in the future.
