MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. -- Officials brought a man to a hospital in the region after he reportedly experienced a medical emergency and crashed his car.

Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene in the 2600 block of Estes Ln at around 6:47 on Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, investigators discovered the 2015 F-150 of Keith Hays, of Paducah, crashed.

Deputies believe Hays suffered the medical emergency while driving east on Estes Ln., lost consciousness and therefore drove off the road. Officials say Hays drifted off the right side of the road, hit a tree and ended in a ditch.

The Reidland Farley Fire Department was forced to remove Hays from the F-150 via mechanical efforts, and the Mercy Regional EMS brought him to the hospital.

Stovesand's Towing also provided aid on the scene.
