A lot of questions this evening after the abrupt resignation of the Marion High School principal.

MARION,Ill. (WSIL) --- A lot of questions this evening after the abrupt resignation of the Marion High School principal.

Brandon Antonacci went to the high school and he lives in the area with a child of his own.

He is wondering why Principal Nate Addison stepped down from his position and was replaced.

News 3 spoke to several other parents who also told us they received phone calls informing them of the administration changes although they were not given an explanation why either.

Antonacci says regardless of the reason Addison left he and other parents need to know what’s going on in their child’s school

“I would want to make sure they are reporting to us every day about how they are in class and what's going on in the classroom, Antonacci said.

He adds that he hopes Addison’s replacement is a chance for the district to move forward.

“It’s been so long since I've been in the school system here, but I hope so, I hope it goes in the right direction, Antonacci said.

The Marion Unit 2 School District posted they are searching for a new high school principal on their Facebook page for the next academic school year. We have reached out to the district’s office for a comment, but they have not responded yet.
