MARTIN, Tenn. -- Students from The University of Tennessee in Martin will travel to Vegas next weekend to help out at this year's Super Bowl.

Fourteen students from the school's business department depart for the adventure on Sunday. The goal is to gain experience and real-world knowledge in sports management by performing tasks such as hospitality tasks and transporting players around the stadium.

The school's associate professor of sports management and coordinator for this program, Dexter Davis, said the following, "We make it kind of like a job interview, so they get some practice with that. They have to provide me with a cover letter and a resume, and they have to do a bit of research about  the organization that we’re working with so they can write a meaningful."

Davis has brought students to the bowl game since 1995.

According to a release from the university, Davis believes the experience is "extensive" and the start to career opportunities.

"There are about 40 sports industry professionals that are going to be hanging out at different tables and have the students come up and talk with them," Davis said. "It’s an opportunity to network and meet people and shake hands.

UTM Martin is one of 45 universities participating in this experience.Â
