...Funnel clouds will be possible through this afternoon...

There have been reports of funnel clouds today. These funnels
are developing underneath a few showers that are moving across the
area. Underneath these showers...spinning columns of air that
look like tornadoes may continue to develop. These funnels usually
are very brief and rarely touch the ground. If these funnels do
touch down...they most likely will not cause damage to life or
property.

These funnels are due to cooler air aloft...warm moist air near
the ground...and are usually in association with a strong area of
low pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Due to little
or no wind shear...they are usually weak and very brief.

McLeod Summer Playhouse at SIU announces summer 2024 lineup

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The McLeod Summer Playhouse at SIU in Carbondale has announced its lineup for summer 2024.Ìý

The featured shows will include "The Prom," "Hello, Dolly!" and "Dragons Love Tacos." The first two shows will be performed six times each throughout June and July, with the later show featuring nine showtimes aimed at children.Ìý

"The Prom" follows four former Broadway stars who visit a small town in Indiana after hearing about its prom controversy when a girl hopes to bring her girlfriend to the dance. The show premiered on Broadway in October of 2018 and was adapted for Netflix in December of 2020. "The Prom" will be the featured June show at the playhouse.Ìý

"Hello, Dolly!" is a classic musical following Dolly, a matchmaker in New York who must help an artist find love with a rich man's niece. The show is an adaptation of the play "The Matchmaker" by Thornton Wilder and became popular with a 1969 film version starring Barbra Streisand. "Hello, Dolly!" is the chosen show for July.Ìý

The other show set for this summer is "Dragons Love Tacos." This show details the shenanigans dragons get into when, upon eating their favorite food, Tacos, they accidentally eat some spicy salsa. This will be performed mornings in June and July for children.Ìý
