...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Motorists Urged to Avoid Area in North Zeigler Due to Crash

ZEIGLER, Ill. -- Emergency crews are responding to a crash along State Highway 148 near Prairie Creek Road in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Emergency Management Agency alerted the public at 4:39 p.m. to avoid the area and take alternative routes.

County officials said the crash occurred along Highway 148 in the northern portion of Zeigler.
