MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- The Murphysboro Fire Department has recognized its deputies on International Firefighters Day.聽
The team's Chief, Steve McBride, posted an official recognition on the department's Saturday morning to thank the town's firefighters for their hard work.聽
"They are not only there when the bell rings for a fire, but they are also responding to medical calls, maintaining equipment, training in all disciplines of the fire service and teaching fire safety to many different groups," wrote McBride. "Sometimes they leave their homes multiple times during their off duty days to respond to calls."
McBride then went on to acknowledge the team's dedications and professionalism. The deputies' families also received a shoutout.聽
