Officials still investigating a house fire in Broughton

BROUGHTON, Ill. -- Fire officials are responding to a house fire on the 200 block of W Main Street in Broughton. 

The original report of the fire came in by phone around 1:35 p.m. The house was fully engulfed by the time the fire department arrived. Crews are still on the scene now. 

    Officials found three children in the house upon arrival. Crews were able to rescue the children unharmed.

    The Fire Marshall is expected to be on scene later tonight to aid with investigation.

    The McLeansboro Fire Department, the Hamilton County Ambulance Service, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the Hamilton County Emergency Management Agency, the Norris City Fire Protection District, the Eldorado Fire Department, and the Wayne Fire Protection District #1 have all responded to the scene.
