PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- The Ohio River and the lower Mississippi River are both cresting in our region.
This comes a week after a storm dumped multiple inches of rain across Kentucky, Missouri and Illinois, leading to flooded streams and tributaries.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports updated information at river gauges placed along the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.
Here is the breakdown of each river gauge along the Ohio River and lower Mississippi River in our region, as of 8 p.m.
Ohio River
Shawneetown - Moderate flooding - 44.55' feet - Cresting on February 23
Golconda - Minor flooding - 45.51' - Expected to crest on February 25
Smithland Lock and Dam - Minor flooding - 42.54' - Cresting on February 23
Paducah - Moderate flooding - 43' - Cresting on February 23
Olmstead Lock and Dam - Moderate flooding - 42.56' - Crested on February 19
Cairo - Minor flooding - 44.34' - Crested on February 20
