MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. -- One person is dead and another injured after a motorcycle crashed with a car in McCracken County on Monday afternoon.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened on May 21 around 2:41 p.m. Authorities responded to the area of Kentucky Dam Road and Eagles Nest Drive for a crash involving a motorcycle and car.
Authorities started investigating and said Gordon Smith, 63 of Kuttawa, Kentucky, was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, going east on Kentucky Dam Road.
At this time, the sheriff's office said a 70-year-old man from Paducah, was driving a 2012 Buick Enclave, which was on Eagles Nest Drive and crossing over Kentucky Dam Road.
The motorcycle then reportedly crashed with the Enclave.
Smith was then taken to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead, the sheriff's office stated in a report.
The 70-year-old man was also taken to a local hospital with injuries.
Assisting the sheriff's office at the scene was the Reidland-Farley Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance, McCracken County DES, McCracken County Coroner’s Office and Harper’s Towing.
