One injured after stabbing in Zeigler

UPDATE: Illinois State Police have identified the suspect involved.

ISP Troop 10 arrested 20-year-old James A. Burkhamer at around 12:10 on May 25th.  Burkhamer was charged with aggravated battery and placed in the Franklin County Jail.

ORIGINAL STORY:

ZEIGLER, Ill. -- A 22-year-old man is recovering in a St. Louis hospital with multiple stab wounds from a Wednesday night incident.

It happened on May 24, just after 11 p.m. in Zeigler.

Zeigler Fire Chief Ryan Buckingham confirmed to News 3 his crew helped transport a victim to an Air Evac helicopter which then flew him to a hospital in St. Louis for treatment.

No names have been given at this time.
