Pedestrian hospitalized, driver accused of fleeing after Carbondale crash

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- City police are searching for a dented car after a driver reportedly hit a pedestrian and left the scene on May 25. 

The Carbondale Police arrived at the 400 block of East Walnut Street at 1:47 a.m. to find the victim. The person was immediately brought to the ER with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police say their investigation revealed the car that hit the victim was a silver four-door car with heavily-tinted windows. The victim was reportedly walking in the street. 

Officers believe the driver left the scene without aiding the victim or leaving information. Police also believe the car has visible damage. 

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who may have information on the driver should call Carbondale Police at 618-549-2121.
