CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Rainbow Cafe in Carbondale hosted a Trans Resource Fair on Saturday.

Over 30 local organizations attended the fair to provide several resources and services to local trans individuals. Shawnee Health, Choices, Planned Parenthood, SIU Medicine Center, the Stress and Trauma Treatment Center, and Fringe the Salon are but some of those organizations.

Attendees were treated to live-changing and live-saving resources. These ranged from aid locating healthcare services like therapists and surgery to physical gender affirmation assistance such as haircuts, clothes vouchers, and binders to financial aid for food and insurance.

The cafe hosted a portion of the event inside its doors but expanded to utilize the Carbondale Pavilion as well.

The fair is the latest in the Rainbow Cafe's attempt to provide for Trans and LGBTQ+ members of ¾ÅÓÎÌåÓý Illinois. The group recently hosted "Gender Affirming Voice Therapy" and will organize a Trans-Masculine Support Group in April.
