Residents in Herrin to boil water

HERRIN, Ill. -- The city of Herrin issued a boil water order for some of its residents on Friday. 

Residents on North 17th Street between West Monroe and West Tyler Streets should boil all water before drinking or cooking with it. The standard for these orders is usually to keep the water at a boil for five minutes. 

The alert was posted to the City of Herrin Facebook page Friday at 11:30 a.m.
