ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The city of Rockford will host a vigil after Wednesday's stabbing incident.Â
The vigil will occur at 2:30 on Thursday afternoon. Faith officials in the area will host the program on Charles Street at Eggleston Road.
"It's hard to grasp how this could happen and how emotional and raw the community is tonight," said Rockford Mayor McNamara in a statement. "This has been one of the most difficult weeks I have seen in my seven years as Mayor."Â
As previously reported, free counselors will be available Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 9 to 5:00 p.m. Â
The vigil and counseling services are open to all families, friends and neighbors of the victims.Â
