CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- Another cool and cloudy day across the region, leaving snow-lovers a tad disappointed.

Monday night: Temperatures going from the daytime highs of the mid and upper 30's back down to a cool lower 30's. A slight wind chill will bring temperatures to feel more close to the upper 20's. Staying cloudy and dry.

Tuesday: Morning lows into the lower 30's and warming to the lower to mid 40's and staying mostly cloudy. S winds light 5-10mph.

Wednesday: Morning lows into the upper 20's to lower 30's will rise by the afternoon to the upper 30's and lower 40's. Passing clouds and more sunshine to enjoy a rather cool day. Winds from the NW 5-10mph and picking up by the evening hours.

The rest of the week looks to stay cool with on and off chances to see some sunshine.

Looking further ahead, there is a slight chance at seeing at least our next system by the weekend. We will make no promises that we see a direct hit, snow or rain but we can assure you we are keeping an eye on what may be an active pattern moving in by early and mid January.
