JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. -- Three died in a head-on crash Saturday night in Jefferson County.Â
Two 20-year-old males from Scheller and Herrin died on the scene. A 37-year-old male from Collinsville also died in the crash. Two of these victims were drivers while the third was a passenger.
A 32-year-old male passenger from Crystal Lake is in unknown condition at a St. Louis hospital.Â
The crash occurred Saturday at 11:59 p.m. at the intersection of E. Dubois Rd and N. Pulsar Ln. in Scheller near Waltonville.Â
Jefferson County Deputies have detailed the events of the wreck. A 2017 Buick crossed the median and hit a 2023 Chevrolet head-on.Â
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tended to the crash with help from the Waltonville, Woodlawn and Jefferson Fire Protection Districts; Litton's Ambulance Service; and the Illinois State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit.Â
