POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Three Rivers College and Central Methodist University have announced a new agreement that makes obtaining a nursing degree easier for students.
The agreement bridges the gap between the associate's degree for nursing at Three Rivers and Central Methodist's bachelor's degree.

“This gives Three Rivers an additional pathway for our students to seek higher education without the loss of any credit, and at a reasonable price, said Wesley Payne, president of Three Rivers.
Three Rivers hopes to give students the knowledge required to obtain a Registered Nursing license. From there, students can continue to Central Methodist to finetune their skills and become more well-rounded, professional, and beneficial nurses to communities.
“There will be no loss of credits, and it will be just like two-plus-two," said Dr. Rita Gulstad, Central Methodist Provost. "The students will be able to work while they’re working on their bachelor’s degree, earn a living, and go straight into the workforce.”
Students will complete a variety of courses including lectures and clinical labs.
The agreement was signed at the end of October by Payne and Gulstad.
