PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- A tornado watch has been issued for portions of southern Illinois, western Kentucky and southeast Missouri until 10 p.m. due to the incoming threat of severe weather. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has also been issued for a portion of southern Illinois and southeast Missouri.
The National Weather Service in Paducah issued the tornado watch on Friday afternoon.
The region is at risk for severe weather on Friday evening as storms are expected to move through starting in southeast Missouri and into southern Illinois and western Kentucky.
