WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- Officials arrested a passenger in a traffic stop after reporting several illegal drugs in her possession.
Deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office stopped a car driving along Oak and 22nd Streets in Herrin around 1:08 a.m. on March 3 for violating traffic rules. During a discussion with the officers, the car's driver and passenger agreed to allow a K9 to sniff the car.
The sheriff's department revealed the following drugs were found in the car:
- Hydrocodone - (a Schedule 2 narcotic under the Illinois Controlled Substances Act)
- Clonazepam - (a Schedule 4 narcotic under the Illinois Controlled Substances Act)
- Alprazolam - (a Schedule 4 narcotic under the Illinois Controlled Substances Act)
- Diazepam - (a Schedule 4 narcotic under the Illinois Controlled Substances Act)
Officials accused the drugs belonged to the car's passenger, Karla R. Jones. Deputies arrested Jones and sent her to the Williamson County Jail.
