WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- A routine traffic stop led to an arrest when officials found drug-related items and a weapon.

Craig Mugshot

Deputies with the Williamson County Sheriff's Office arrested Felicia C. Craig on May 18 around 11:29 p.m. This happened after officials noticed Craig's car break multiple traffic laws on Corinth Road near Johnston City.

Upon contact with Craig, the deputies immediately recognized her from prior interactions. The pair questioned Craig about her plans and planned route. Deputies say Craig did not give a constant answer but instead changed her story multiple times.

A K9 officer was brought in to conduct a sniff of the vehicle. Its handler said the K9 clearly showed signs of smells connected to narcotics. Deputies say Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a Hi-Point .380 caliber handgun were found in the car.

The deputies took Craig into custody and placed her in the Williamson County Jail on the following charges:

  • Possession of Meth
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon

Those with information on the situation or the suspect should call the office at 618-997-6541.
