(Carterville, IL) WSIL-TV, the Allen Media Broadcasting station located in Carterville, Illinois serving the Cape Girardeau (MO), Paducah (KY), Harrisburg (IL) television market announced the appointment of Natasha Williams as the station’s Assistant News Director and News Anchor, effective Monday, February 19, 2024. Williams joins the News 3 team from The Black Information Network and 89.7 NPR News, where she served as a National News Anchor and multimedia reporter/host, respectively.
Williams has held pivotal journalism roles across the United States, including anchor and investigative reporter positions in Jackson, Tennessee; Monroe and Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Rockford, Illinois; Cincinnati, Ohio; Louisville, Kentucky; and notably, over a decade at WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio. Her excellence in journalism has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Ohio Associated Press's Best Reporter and Best Broadcast Writing accolades in 2008, an Emmy Award for her coverage of the 2001 Xenia Tornado, and a 2020 honor from Louisiana Association of Broadcasters for the best small market newscast.

Williams will spearhead the evolution of WSIL's newsroom, championing a multiplatform approach to local content delivery. Williams' holds an undergraduate degree from Johnson C. Smith University and a master's degree from The Ohio State University. She has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Wilberforce University. Natasha Williams is married with two sons and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.
