WSIL(Carterville, Ill.)-- This morning, a lot of us are waking up to chilly temperatures in the low to mid 40s across southern Illinois. We are still see the mow 50s further to the south. Skies this morning are mostly clear thanks to an area of high pressure.

Today, you can expect to see sunny skies all day today. Temperatures will be in the 50s through the late morning hours. By lunchtime, we will see temperatures warm into the lower 60s. Highs today will warm into the lower 70s for most of us across southern Illinois. The mid to upper 70s are possible further south across our southern Kentucky.

Overnight you can expect to mostly clear skies. We should start the day tomorrow mostly sunny, but clouds and isolated showers are possible during the late morning and early afternoon hours tomorrow. These showers will be associated with our next cold front. Once the cold front passes through the region we should see shower chances diminish.

Morning lows tomorrow will be in the the mid 50s and lower 60s; high temperatures will reach the upper 70s to near 80 tomorrow afternoon across most of southern Illinois. The lower to mid 80s are possible further south where the cold front takes longer to reach.

Skies will be partly cloudy for the weekend and temperatures  for the weekend will be in the mid 60s, which will certainly feel much cooler, but are a little closer to normal
