WSIL(Carterville, Ill.) -- This morning, we are tracking temperatures that are on the chilly side, with temperatures coming in in the low to mid 20s across southern Illinois, and the mid to upper 20s across southeastern Missouri.Â
Morning Forecast January 27th, 2025
Today, you can expect to see sunny skies, with temperatures that will reach the upper 30s by the midday hours, and high temperatures will be in the mid 40s across southern Illinois, and the upper 40s further south. Winds today will be out of the west southwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour, potentially gusting as high as 20 miles per hour. These relatively warm temperatures, gusty winds, and low relative humidity will lead to elevated fire potential this afternoon. So, outdoor burning is not recommended. Â
Overnight, temperatures will fall back into the upper 20s and lower 30s across the region. Skies tomorrow will be mostly sunny through the entire day. Temperatures will be even warmer, with highs running into the low to mid 50s areawide. The same conditions are still expected for Wednesday, but late Wednesday evening, we will see increasing cloud cover.Â
This will be associated with our next chance for rain, arriving late Thursday, and lasting through Friday afternoon. Temperatures will still be warm Thursday and Friday, but temperatures will return to the upper 40s or Saturday.Â
