CARBONDALE (WSIL) -- Those who are looking for a more holistic approach to health are encouraged to attend this year's Women's Health Naturally.
The event will feature more than 60 natural health care professionals, who specialize in yoga, the benefits of juicing, essential oils, physical therapy, herbs and more.
Not only these health care professionals from southern Illinois but travel from central Illinois, Kentucky and Missouri to attend the event.
Organizations like Pregnancy Matters, the Boys and Girls club, as well as, Food Works will also be in attendance.
Terry Hickey, who Director of Women's Health Naturally, says many of the health care professionals and organizations have interactive booths.
"There's going to be a lot of opportunities for people to speak face to face with these practitioners," she explains. "They can learn what a functional medicine doctor does, what does a nutritionist do, what does an herbalist do."
Several speakers will be holding talks throughout the event and include:
- Kendall Boysen - Encouragementology "You've got the Power"
- Anita Brown - Healing Autoimmune Disease - Prevention Detection & Recovery
- Dr. Terry Harmon - The Autonomic Nervous System

- Amy Kinzie - Understanding CBD & the Endocannabinoid System
- Debra Lowrance - Birth 2020 and Beyond
- Dr. Bonnie Juul - How stress affects DNA

An organic lunch will provided and after the event a Nia Movement will take place. It's a dance that combines yoga, Tai Chi and other healing arts.
Although the event is geared toward women with topics such as natural child birth, make up products and female friendly workouts; Organizers say it's meant for everyone.
Hickey says as the event grows so do the topics that are covered and invites men, youth and teens to come and check out the workshops and expo.
