...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Peak heat index values of 100 to 105.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may
cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

Warm Thursday, Delta brings rain by the weekend

WSIL -- Another very warm morning for October! Temperatures are in the mid to upper 50s ahead of yet another summer-like day!

A few more clouds are expected this afternoon as some of the far outer cloud bands from Hurricane Delta in the Gulf of Mexico starts it trek north. Temperatures will warm into the low to mid 80s, around 10 degrees above normal.

Hurricane Delta is forecasted to hit the coast of Louisiana Friday evening. The track inland may bring some rain to parts of our region this weekend. For the latest on when the rain will arrive and how much you'll see, join meteorologist Nick Hausen on News 3 This Morning.
