WSIL (Carterville) --- Brrrr what a cold start to the morning! Temperatures are dipping down into the upper 20s in Southern Illinois and the 30s for the rest of the region. Clouds will clear throughout the rest of the morning with plenty of sunshine around by the afternoon.聽
There's a big swing in highs by the heat of the day as we get close to or even slight above 70 degrees. Clouds will begin to clear as the disturbance over the Gulf will move east.聽

We're continuing to keep an eye on our next dominating system as a cold front is expected to sweep late Thursday into Friday. It'll bring a chance for scattered showers back into the region. Luckily, no severe weather is anticipated.聽
The next rain maker is right behind the corner to kick off the next work week.

Behind the front, temperatures will drastically drop and stay cool through Thanksgiving.
