WSIL(Carterville, IL)-- This morning, there is a wide variety in temperatures. Areas to the south are in the low to mid 50s, while our northern most counties are in the upper 30s and lower 40s.聽
We will see a lot of sunshine this morning. However, cloud cover will be increasing through the afternoon hours. This will not inhibit our temperatures from climbing into the mid to upper 70s聽 today. These warmer conditions are due to strong southerly winds today that will be sustained at 15 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 mph.聽
We will likely be remaining dry though the the day, other than a few isolated sprinkles in our eastern most counties.聽
Tomorrow, we will likely see a few isolated showers in the morning, followed by a considerable amount of dry time. We will see showers and thunderstorms enter the area tomorrow evening and into the overnight hours. a few of them could be on the strong to severe side, with the main threats being damaging winds, hail, and a weak, brief tornado.聽
聽Behind the cold front, we will see cold temperatures for Wednesday, before we get back into the 60s and 70s for late week and for the weekend.聽
