WISCONSIN WATER TOWER

PLOVER, Wis. (WAOW) The water tower in the village of Plover, Wisconsin has been the source of conversation and laughs over the past couple of days.

Every so often the Plover water tower gets a fresh coat of paint, but this time around, the town also got a temporary new name.

Crews began painting the water tower on Thursday and it wasn’t long before they and residents noticed the mistake, with workers switching the V and O in Plover’s name.

Not long after, pictures started spreading on social media with area residents creating memes and making jokes about the mistake.

“It’s been very, very enjoyable to see the creativity of people coming up with Plover and the misspelling and what that means. So it’s been an enjoyable day, Village of Plover Administrator Dan Mahoney said.

He said some have already created t-shirts with the misspelling and that though the initial misspelling was a mistake, the jokes are all in good fun.

The corrected paint job will be finished by Friday night and he said he’s thankful residents have been able to come together and laugh over the incident.
