Illinois...

Big Muddy River near Plumfield and Murphysboro.

.Levels will continue to fall on the Big Muddy River, dropping
below flood stage near Plumfield Sunday, and near Murphysboro
Tuesday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.

* WHERE...Big Muddy River near Plumfield.

* WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
Sunday morning and continue falling to 15.1 feet Thursday,
April 24.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Woodlawn family attacked by pit bull

WOODLAWN (WSIL) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says a family of four was attacked by a pit bull in Woodlawn.

It happened around noon on Wednesday near the 7500 block of Casablanca Rd in rural Woodlawn.

Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Bullard says all four family members were transported to a Mt. Vernon hospital. Two family members were then airlifted to another hospital for treatment, with a 12-year-old girl being the most seriously injured.

Jefferson County Animal Control has taken possession of the dog. Stay with News 3 for the latest details as the investigation continues.
