MARION (WSIL) -- On Thursday, Brian Pierce senior, the father of fallen Brooklyn officer Brian Pierce Junior, threw out the first pitch at the Miners game from Rent One Park in Marion. Brian Pierce junior was honored and remembered prior to the game.
The Miners shared their condolences with Brian Pierce senior and it was just a special night at the ballpark.
"I just don't know what to say, it's amazing," said Pierce, Sr. "It's an honor to be here tonight and it's an honor for them to do this for my son. My son did so much for everybody, everybody loved him and I know he's up there somewhere watching down and laughing about the pitch, but he's happy I did it for him."
Do you think he would've given you some pointers on how to throw?
"He would have given me quite a few pointers after he cussed me out," said a laughing Pierce, Sr.
