CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- The Carterville girls high school basketball team is on its way to the State Class 2A Semifinals.
Thursday morning, Carterville and Tri-C students gave the team a special send off.
The team has a record of 30-2 after Monday's win over Teutopolis.
Head coach Matt Crain said he is proud of his team's work ethic.
"You know, fortunately, I've had really good players and on top of that, good people, and then you go ahead and add to that they work at it, they work in practice, they work in school."
Coach Crain says everyone, from the boys team to regular season opponents, have been supporting the team and passing along messages of encouragement.
