CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- John A. Logan has some big time players.
Sidney Curry has committed to Kansas. Jamarion Sharp has said yes to Western Kentucky.
Curry is a handful to handle in the paint. On the roster he's listed at 6'8", 260 pounds. He's trimmed down and he's solid muscle. Sharp is listed at 7'3".
In one year, Sharp has really improved his offensive skill set and he's a rim protector.
The Vols had a championship run cut short due to covid 19, John A. Logan has had limited practices this season, games don't get started until January, and with a lot of schools recruiting these two, it's a weight off their shoulders to announce their decision.
"I agree and I believe there was some anxiety and pressure building up when you just don't have the amount of schools but the quality of schools recruiting you, what else are you waiting for to come through," John A.Logan Men's Head Basketball Coach Kyle Smithpeters said. "You've got to be realistic about it too, if you feel comfortable about something especially the level that is recruiting you. Like I tell my guys all the time,I'm happy for you, free education is a free education and these guys did a great job. Sidney and Jamarion both and the team in general. We ran out with a 3.12 GPA as the best we've had in our entire program history and I think those guys have done a great job of setting a great tone not just on the floor but in the classroom and off the floor and have it all payoff in the long run by working hard in all those areas."
"They will all feed off each other so I'm excited for both of them and we've got a lot of really good players that are still here and getting recruited and excited to see what's going to happen there. All in all, just glad they are in a Logan uniform and not a different one right now."
