Anna (WSIL) -- Welcome to Union County Country Club where both the boys and girls golf teams of Anna Jonesboro held matches today the boys took on Eldorado, the girls went toe-to-toe with Herrin, both the Wildcat teams won today so let's show you how they did it.
On the girl's side Marlee Smith continues to have a strong start of the season. On the 4th hole Smith with a nice approach shot, she would wind up winning the event with a 41. More on Smith in just a bit. Zoe Williams led the way for Herrin shot a 47. Anna Jonesboro improves to 4-0. Wildcats shoot a 204 Herrin finishes with a 253
On the boy's side Anna Jonesboro gets another W. They Hold off Eldorado 160 to 174. For the Eagles Noah Smith shot a 40, Canon Weatherly one better with a 39.
Luke Lasley led the Way for the Wildcats He shot a 1 under 34. Parred the last hole. We caught up with the medalist Lasley. Like most golfers, he'll tell you he could've played better. But that's his third win of the year.
"I just want to hit my wedges better that is all," Lasley said. "I hit my driver great. If I hit my driver like that every time, I'm going to have a solid round. Just focus on my wedges and putter, short game, I'll be alright."
